Embracing God’s Dunamis

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

Ephesians 3:20 (NIV)

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by a task God has called you to? Perhaps you’ve looked at the gifts He’s given you and thought, “How could I possibly make a difference with these?” If so, you’re in good company. Many of God’s servants throughout history have felt the same way. But here’s the amazing truth: it’s not about our power, but God’s power working through us.

The Apostle Paul, writing to the Ephesians, reminds us of an astounding reality—God is able to do “immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.” And the kicker? This power is at work within us. Let that sink in for a moment. The same power that created the universe and raised Christ from the dead is at work within you right now.

But what does it mean to embrace this power in our daily lives and ministries? It’s not about becoming spiritual superheroes or performing spectacular miracles on demand. Rather, it’s about recognizing our dependence on God and allowing His strength to work through our weaknesses.

Embracing God’s power often begins with acknowledging our limitations. When we come to the end of ourselves, we’re most open to relying on God’s strength. Paul understood this well when he wrote, “For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:10).

Tapping into God’s power involves several practical steps. Start by cultivating awareness, regularly reminding yourself that His power is at work within you. Pray boldly, asking God to demonstrate His power in and through your life. Don’t be afraid to step out in faith, as God’s power often becomes most evident when we take risks in obedience to Him. Embrace challenges as opportunities for God’s power to shine through your weakness.

And when you see God working powerfully through you, give Him the glory quickly. This approach keeps pride in check and faith strong, allowing you to continually experience and rely on God’s immeasurable power in your daily life and ministry.

Joyce Meyer, Christian author and speaker, encourages us: “The power of God is available to you right now. You don’t have to earn it or deserve it. You just have to believe it.” This statement beautifully captures the essence of God’s grace. His power isn’t something we achieve through our efforts but a gift we receive through faith.

Whether you’re facing mundane tasks or monumental challenges, remember that God’s power is at work within you as you go about your day. You may not always feel it, but it’s there, ready to be manifested as you step out in faith.

Let this truth liberate you from the pressure to perform in your strength. Instead, lean into God’s power. Allow it to work through your gifts, personality, circumstances, and weaknesses. You might be amazed at what God can accomplish through a life fully yielded to Him.

Remember, Godseekers, God’s power working through us isn’t just for our benefit. It’s so that others might see His glory and be drawn to Him. When we serve in His strength rather than our own, we become living testimonies of His greatness.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we stand in awe of Your immeasurable power. Thank You that this same power is at work within us. Forgive us for the times we’ve relied on our strength instead of Yours. Help us to be ever aware of Your power and to lean on it daily. Give us the courage to step out in faith, trusting not in our abilities but in Your strength working through us. May our lives be powerful testimonies to Your grace and glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
